These “turn-key” training options are great for anyone who needs a professional to get the dog started off right or to get an out of control dog back under control. That said, please understand that we can’t just train the dog, we also have to train the human on how to maintain the training. Therefore, these packages must include transfer sessions to assure long-term success.
Walk ‘n’ Train
Walk ‘n’ Train packages can be looked at in one of two ways.
- A great alternative to a Board ‘n’ Train program because the dog gets to live at home, rather than in a kennel, while receiving high quality training and handling by a professional trainer.
- An alternative to hiring a dog walker for dogs that pull, have reactivity, aggression, fear or anything that is beyond the scope of the average dog walker.
Once the dog is doing well, the training can be transferred back to the owner and/or a dog walker of your choosing. (we also have a referral list for dog walkers who can carry on with your dog’s long term exercise needs)
Our Walk ‘n’ Train program will include:
- Walking Nicely On Leash (heeling, no pulling, etc.)
- Basic to Advanced Obedience Training
- Socialization and Public Outings (downtown, coffee shops, etc.)
- Correction of Behavior Issues (fear, aggression, lunging, barking, etc.)
- Hiking, Biking, Swimming, etc.
- Off-Leash Training
- E-collar Conditioning
- Anything else you might request

Board ‘n’ Train
Thriving Canine does not offer boarding but we can train your dog while being boarded at select local boarding facilities. It’s basically the same as our Walk ‘n’ Train service but while your dog is being boarded.
- Sometimes people choose this option while they are already boarding the dog due to a vacation.
- Sometimes there is a benefit to getting the dog away from all the household distractions for a little while.
The length of the stay and the intensity of the training will depend on the dog’s needs, temperament and your expectations.

Daycare ‘n’ Train
Thriving Canine does not offer doggie daycare but we can train your dog while they are at select local daycare facilities.
- Sometimes this service is for dogs who are having some socialization issues at daycare but have not yet been banned from coming back.
- Other times, it’s basically just our Walk ‘n’ Train service but handled while your dog is at daycare.
