I had Chad come over the first day our puppy arrived. Within minutes he was able to get her to sit and come on his command then train us how to do it. Simply amazing. Worth every cent if you are looking for a trainer. Also talked to us for over an hour on how to raise our puppy as I had no idea on what to do. Cant wait to begin puppy classes!

I heartily recommend Chad Culp and Thriving Canine for both general obedience training and puppy socialization classes. Chad is gentle, compassionate and extremely well informed as well as pragmatic in his approach to training.

I have seen resultsd in as little as one session with dogs that were essentially out of the control of their owners.

Amazingly he does this at prices that are cheaper than his competition. He is clearly doing what he loves to do and having a very beneficial effect on the dog owning community in the process.

My dog is the smartest dog around. :) I am the one that needs training and Chad is always  there to make sure I am staying on track with my goals.  Wether it is going back to basics or wanting to learn something new. Chad is patient and really gives everyone he works with personalized service. No quesiton is too silly. Whatever your goals are he is right there teaching you how to achive them.

He also takes the extra step and looks at nutrition. He only wants the best for you and your four legged family member.

We hired Chad to come to our house to work with our new pup. We have 3 dogs ranging in age from 12 years to 9 months. Adding the 3rd dog to the group completely the dynamic at our house and we needed some help. So we called Chad!

He was great with all of our dogs and by the end of the training session they were all asleep. He showed us some great activities to do with the puppy where we still get to play rough with him. We also went on a walk where Chad helped us with that.

He training technique is the right kind. Your dogs will listen!! Highly recommended and we look forward to working with him in the future.

We have been going to Chad at Thriving Canine for almost a year now.  We started out with home visits, and now do group classes. It took a while for it to sink in, that these classes were as much about coaching us as the dog!  We wouldn't be where we are without Chad and his consistent, patient instruction.  He really has a wonderful way with people and dogs, and I cannot speak highly enough of him.  Our dog Star almost knocks us off our feet dragging us toward his class each week!  It has also really paid off in the show ring for him, as he is able to get into the zone, and stay focused with all the distractions around him going on.

The Dog Whisperer of the South Bay.   I have a five month old puppy who has sleeping and potty training issues.    I enrolled in his puppy training but wanted some additional one on one advice.   Chad has a program to meet everyone's needs.   If he doesn't have a program that meets your needs, he will create one.   I like his positive attitude and his obvious love of animals.

I've worked with Chad a few times with my dog Charlie. I love his calm manner and find it easy to trust him. I've used a lot of trainers but never really felt confident and trusting... Chad's awesome. I've been using the technniques he's shown us and Charlie has quickly adapted and now realizes I'M the master! I would highly recommend his services!

This is the best Dog Training class I have ever been too, and I've been to a few. Its probably the closest thing you're going to get to the Dog Whisperer in this area, and I'm sure a whole lot cheaper.

Chad is great and really takes time to work with each dog and owner on an individual basis. I had a lot of concerns with my Rottweiller before starting the class, and Chad has been able to address just about everyone of them with positive results.

I love that he charges per session, instead of comitting to a 6 or 8 week program like most trainers. This makes things very flexible and allows me to go when its convienent for me.

Thanks Chad for all the help. Turbo appreciates it!

My dogs & I have been working with Chad for a couple of months.  I consider myself an informed & engaged dog "parent"...then, I moved to the city and in the process, happened to pick up a small terrier mix.  Following the move, there was a "disaster" every week. I needed help!

Having Chad in my house was super helpful.  One - it gave me a new perspective on my situation and two - he zeroed in on some simple things that I could be doing, things that I lost sight of in the move. Chad even took Mr. Smarty Pants to Petco and hung out with him for over an hour to see what motivated him and what made him nervous.  Super helpful observations!  I highly recommend Chad.  If I was closer to Gilroy, I would take his classes and go on the hikes.

Chad was very helpful in getting our toy rat terriers to walk with us much better. His method of dog training made us realize that,we, the owners needed the training. Great job and love your FB site.

Chad is a great trainer!!  Unfortunately, he had to train ME how to be a good owner for my Jack Russel terrier.  When my dog was a puppy I was working long hours and after that I became ill so she was smart but untrained for at least 6 years!!  She was really a challenge by the time I met Chad.   His calm and gentle ways showed me what a good dog she could be with the proper handing.  His common sense rules are so easy to use that she has become a better behaved dog.

As Chad told me, "she doesn't have to like everybody she meets and she won't be perfect" BUT she does have to listen and behave, which was the most important accomplishment!!   His patience with us (due to my inconsistency), his reasonable price and his unwavering persistence for the benefit of the dog shows his dedication and commitment to all dogs.  I highly recommend his service.

First, I have to admit that the whole training process with Chad, Dyna and myself was more enjoyable than any obligation rightfully should be. Chad's soothing energy, quick wit and patience would make the dullest of classes seem bearable. However, that aside, the reason I chose to work with Chad is the personalized, down-to-earth training program he creates that allows you and your pet to co-habitat gracefully in everyday life. Chad came to my home, and quietly observed my routines; then actualized a plan for myself and Dyna that are exclusive to us and therefore very achievable. To my mind, very few people fit within the confines of large cookie cutter classes, and instead, it is Chad's ability to modify behavior and work within your unique real world that sets you and your pet up for success. I would recommend Chad Culp to anyone.
